Good find. I may wait a lil longer for other e-retailers to get ahold of the card, for I am not familiar with ewiz, I wonder what the warranty is going to be like with this card..... I thought the card was named HD 2900 XT.

the NDA expires on Monday

the pre-release benches has it beating the GTS
[evidently 'not convincingly'] .... and certainly not the GTX

and we have no clue about DX10 perf

it DOES have nice "features"

check the 2 million threads in Video devoted to it :p

Isnt this considerably cheaper than the other Hot Deals thread that had pre-orders for this?

At this price, it is only ~$60 more than a GTS. I guess depending on the features you want, or depending on the power requirements, this could be a pretty good buy.

Though it is rumored that there is going to be a refresh in a few months.

I forget, how much memory does this have on board? Somewhere between the two GTS versions, right?

2900xt has 512 if Im not mistaken

The GTS is down to 260-280 AR......so its considerably cheaper. Unless you are referring to the 640mb version? I think most tests show the 320 keeping up with the 640 till you get to insanely high resolutions.

Till the card actually comes out nobody knows if this is indeed a good buy or not.

Ya, I was comparing it to the 640mb one. I thought that it was in beetween them, so I just chose the higher one.

It is not a good deal b/c the GTS 640 beats it up in several games. The 2900xt only has advantage in a couple of games and small ad at that. Best to wait for newer drivers and testing b4 jumping on it to see if performance improves, and if the performance difference is worth 60 dollars more. Right now generally speaking the GTS performs about the same, if not better. Only distinct advantage of 2900xt is in Rainbow Six. So, this might be an indicator of performance in future games.. but hard to say. Not a good time to buy.

zzf has had 3 available since friday/saturday which makes sense since none shipped until today anyway.

8800gtx >>>>> 2900xt > 8800gts

with eye candy, the 2900xt pretty much owns.
