Best movie of 2003, of ANY genre. Means a lot more to you if you're an X-men fan. I don't know ANYONE who knows anything about X-men who didn't get chills down their spine at the very end. Plus, a great homage to Star Trek II. Paid $15, would have paid $50.

i picked up my copy today as well, 18.39 at costco plus i got a 6 dollar mail in rebate. i can claim this rebate by their website instead of mailing them the reciept thingy ma jig, which is pretty cool

Didn't see it in the theatre, my g/f did though. I think we are just going to buy it one day (whenever that day comes )

I agree with you vette. It was great, and you are right, meant a whole lot more if you were an Xmen fan. Ending gave me the chills too. Cant wait to see Phoenix. I wonder if they will bring in those Sentinals. And more Colossus.

watched it last night, still a good movie. i was only planning to watch to the part where they are in the jet and they meet up with magneto, but i ended up just watching the whole thing. once again, that opening sequence is BAD-ASS.

I didn't (granted, you don't know me), but I thought the whole Jean Grey bit at the end came practically out of nowhere when it could have been set up with just a bit of additional setup (maybe it's in the DVD bonus material). I liked the movie, but the endgame just said "Oh, here comes the setup for the Dark Phoenix sequel" instead of feeling like there was actual danger which demanded a particular response.

Well, the problem with properly setting up the Phoenix/Dark Phoenix saga is it took years in the comics, and they have to fit these stories into 2 1/2 hour segments. There wasn't really anything more about it in the bonus material, but there were come cool conceptuals of Sentinels. 🙂
