I dont know if this is because of dual core or what not, but every time I try to install some drivers such as AXVSCSI controller or even Alcohol 120%, my computer just retarts. No warning, just restart. Ive heard this may be due to the unstability of going dual core, but doesnt make much sense. The problem is REALLY getting to me as I cant seem to keep the computer on for longer than a day.

I think a reformat and a new board may be best,

I assume you are limited by boards at the moment becuase of the matx case, right?

Anyway, id do a fresh install, and if you can, ditch the board, i personally have had very bad luck with msi boards.

What brand is your 450w PSU, 450w is meaningless if it's a generic POS. What kind of temps are you getting? What version of ATI's drivers do you have installed(I've had plenty of problems caused by ATI drivers). Did you install the X2 driver that iRONic linked to? It's extremely unlikely your problems are dual core related, I've had 0 problems with my X2.

Go to start-up and recovery and uncheck auto restart on error, then go check the event viewer. Then reference the errors, if any are there. Need help with them, just post them here.

i have a 3800+ x-2.. i never used alcohol 120% but daemon tools works great. i can run 2 instances of prime95 all night..and my cpu is 44C the next morning. I have an nvidia card, but when i owned an ATI card on my last system (wasnt a dual core) i didnt notice any problems caused by drivers. Ive never had the system just shut off and restart. I did apply that AMD driver the very first boot however. I think it will help you, if you havnt installed it.
Try using Daemon Tools, if everything else seems to be in order. Could just be an Alcohol bug. Also, you might want to update your motherboards BIOS. I have seen more than a few wacky problems like this solved by doing that. and dont listen to 2 gigs....
