Ok I've been doing lot's and lot's of research since begining of Febuary when I decided I was going to be building my first build. I'm in 8th grade and will be using this computer for basicaly everything. I do movie editing using Pinnacle Studio Edition 9 and use Adobe Photoshop 7.0 for school projects. I also play FPS games including CS:S and DOD:S. I also surf the web quit a bit and use Word for school. I need a computer to be stable and hold up through another 2 years. I already have purchased some Items.

get a better vid card...

7800 GT or GTX if you can afford it...

but you can get a GT for like 120$ more...worth it in the long run...

I kinda am on a very tight budget my plan is near August of next year get the very top of the line video card out.

Maybe a better idea would be to get a non x2 processor to save money and use that savings to get a 7800gt.

Your like of Dual Channel Memory will result in a sizeable performance hit, I would try and eek out the extra cash to get 2GB now if you can.

I realize that but I'd rather get the X2 now because I am in school and will be using it better and then when I'm out of school I will be gaming and get top of the line Video Card and another gig of RAM.

Anyone else find it funny that he bought an SLI motherboard with a X800GTO and is complaining about budget problems...?

Well, the MSI isn't really expensive. Him spending like $180 on an SLI motherboard would be dumb IMO, though.

I just liked the motherboard I bought it for $125 and there was a $25 mail-in-rebate which should be coming in soon.

But the SLI board nets him an integrated SB Live! 24-bit audio chip, which presumably is good enough that he no longer has to drop $100+ on an X-Fi in order to get decent sound.
