He is in the oreint and I think he must work for one of the mobo makers and has access to engineering samples. He's always the first to show new stuff on XS. His english isn't the best but everybody that hangs out at XS knows his posts well:)

no offese but i'd expect more. He's pushing 1.55 volts though it. Xbit did 2.8 on default... personally I'll be happy with 2.8...disappointed blowing $555 and only seeing 2.7

That is a 1000mghrtz overclock. Not too shabby. (Obviously 500 per core). Getting a FX-56 (two of them no less) for 550 bucks sounds good to me. LOL

Multitasking will be amazing with theses chips. Example: Gaming at FX57 speed, while burning DVD's. Or encoding video while crunching a SETI/F@H wu. And in applications that are multi-threaded it will beat FX57 performance by a staggering 150%-180%. And as time marches on more and more apps will become multithreaded.

Don't forget that it wasn't the final release version. Also, 4400+ and 4800+ are dual san diegos(i think it's called toledo, maybe manchester.) those must be beasts, especially when oc'd:thumbsup:

4200(2.2ghz) & 4600(2.4ghz) are Manchester core w/512k l2 cache per core (like dual venice)
4400(2.2ghz) & 4800(2.4ghz) are Toledo core w/1024k l2 cache per core (like dual san diego)

"Looks good, QD @ FM had his hands on a 4800+ that did 2.7Ghz @ 1.3V stock air. That was sick."

I like this comment in that thread!!!

I know what you mean the first thing i looked at was voltage .. if it were like 1.45/1.5 volts, i would then expect 2.8/2.9 ish on 1.55 to 1.6 ... hmmm will have to see when they come out .. i am a bit reluctant to get one straight away if i can wait and maybe get a core that will OC higher .. like you had said before you want to reach 3.0 on water which is what i am looking to do :D

I've seen Windinme's work before, I don't think he is much of an overclocker. He doesn't appear to do any testing, he ups the volts and sets it at 9 x 300 and takes screenshots. He did the same thing with Venice weeks before anybody had seen one.

Agreed...many are doing tghis and just trying to take it until it faisl to poast and run their benches of choice...Look at his 600ddr at 2.5,4,7,3,....I can tell you that is serious for gskills and very likely his OC is limited by his ram....this is hardly anything definitive....i would trust a guy running a 133 divider more so as a true cpu limit...
