I've recently managed to get my 3800+ up to 2.4GHz however, it is running a bit hotter than i want. Under full load from Prime on both cores im stable at 64 degrees C. In order to be stable the lowest i can put my vcore is 1.4750 volts. If i go any lower i'll get a hardware failure notice in prime.

What im wondering is:

I have my memory set at 2.60 volts, if i raise that any higher is there any chance it would allow me to lower my vcore and pull a few degrees off the temp at load?

If this is a noob question, thanks for your patience cause i've pretty much learned everything today.

Also, how is my load temperature? Is it way too high?

64 C is way too high. My guess would be either a bad temp sensor or an improperly installed heatsink.

Idle, im at 33 C. So im guessing that means the sensor is good, but leaves the heatsink as a possibility. How would you fix the heatsink if there is a problem? Would you need a new one, or just try and reseat it on the chip?

remove, clean off any thermal junk on there at the mo, re apply AS5 and reseat HS

check the spreadate (is that a word?) of the previous thermal paste you used to see how well it spread last time as well just in case.

failing that, poss just buy a new HS

Well, if you are going to pull off the heatsink just to clean/reseat might as well buy a better hsf for it since you overclocked it to 2.4. Doesnt have to be anything outrageous in size or price. At the very least get something that runs a little cooler and more quiet than the stock hsf. Personal decision I suppose.
