I'm looking to stress test my X2 3800+ oc, but I'm not sure what to run Prime95 at. Do I want run the torture test as:

Small FFTs
In-place large FFTs
Blend

I've heard this is a great test of a CPU overclock, and I want to make sure I run it right if I'm going to be running this for 24+ hours.

Thanks for any help

Edit: Pic of proc. Would anybody be able to tell me whether I have the Manchester or Toledo Core?

Thanks :) I'll report back tomorrow about my oc (2.7ghz @ stock voltage, 1.4)

that is a really nice overclock if it's 24+ hours stable.....my X2 3800+ needs 1.5V for 2.7Ghz..................btw, stock voltage is 1.35, your motherboard's default is probably set at 1.4...

What your CPU Serial??? MPMW or GPLW???
and In-place large FFTs and Blend are for test which Hardware?

Jim, even if that is stable, up the voltage a bit--undervolting the chip can cause damage, too (over time).

I'm not sure what the serial is. And what is MPMW & GPLW?

Well I let it run overnight, about 12 1/2hrs total, and no problems :) I won't be able to do a 24+ hour test until tonite, so when I get that done, I'll report back on that as well.

12.5hours stable? did you run two instances of small FFTs? Blend won't be able to fully test the cpu but it tests the memory more

Yep. I did what Shimmishim suggested and ran two instances doing small fft's. After I do the 24 hour run, I'll post a screenshot of the completed run.

Thanks :) I have Koolance's Exos Liquid cooling with this block. Temps usually run in mid to upper 30's. I've tried to go higher than 2.7ghz, and it will post at 2.8+ghz, but no matter what I've tried, I can't get it to boot into Windows. I've taked the core as high as 1.5v.

I thought all the 3800's had the newer Manchester core, which was designated by the JH-E6 Revision code?

If the stepping ends in CD, I believe it is always a Toledo core with half the cache disabled... I could be wrong though!

Man, that is a sweet OC for the 3800. I'm at 2500 with mine and everything is stable and cool. You've got me thinking about trying for 2.7 too. :D
