X2 3800 code question

Hi,

Just got a brand new x2 3800 deleverd this morning,And the code is:

ADA3800DAA5CD

I guess reading on the web this is a toledo core x2 3800?

Is this good or bad?

As i heard the Manchester core ADA3800DAA5BV were better overclockers .

I would like to know before i open the box .Because i will just send it back if it is not the one to have cheers

Try CPU-Z. It will tell you your core and a lot of other details. AMD has a cpuid utility on their website that will do the same.

The thing is i wanted to know before i opened the box...The code is also not on AMD's site.so im a bit confused.

I can then return the cpu if its not the one i want

People say there is really no difference, it's all a matter of luck when it comes to this... some Manchesters are better and some Toledos are better. There really is no point worrying about it cuz the chip will be good either way, it's a x2 3800!

I have a BV and can only do 2450mhz on a epox 9npa+Ultra, but it rocks!

Don't worry about which core you got, they're all good. Most will do 2.4 with a little bit of vcore, stock volts if its a good one.

thanks for the input...I have the sytem up and running now and in cpu z it says its a manchester with E6 revision ..

Anyway you are right the cpu does rock everything is so much more responsive.

gonna clock it over trhe weekend i think..

i got 2 X2 3800+ "CD"
0529 TPMW running 2750Mhz at 1.46v
0529 SPMW running 2850Mhz at 1.48v

I'm not sure what type of cooling you're using. I have a coolermaster R80 watercooler. At first I was disappointed at 1.4 vcore I was running 50 C @max and 36@idle. I decided to do some tinkering, added a 120mm exhaust fan on the outside of my case, and an adjustable 80 mm heatsink fan onto the side of my case for some serious air intake(87 cfm) and suddenly my computer is cooling waaaay better. I went from 50-51@max load to 45-46, my motherboard temp went from 33-34 to 29 and my idle cpu temp is 30. This is running 1.4 vcore on my xp 3800+ OC'd to 2.5.
