X2 3600+

Amplifier

Dualcore 1.8ghz for ~$260-$300. Pipe dream? Seems like it would kick Intel out of the lowend dual core market too 🙂.

Likely...Think they'll wait a bit until they ship more of the high end parts. You'll see 2.6/2.8's X2's this year thats it.

Why name it 3600+? I'd figure they'd call it a 3700+ or a 3500+ first before they come up with a new one.

i bet it wont ever happen. 4000+ will close the gap, mabye in a month or two theyll release it. Maybe one or two higherclocked x2 around christmas to keep customers interested but i wouldnt expect many more models.

their not going lower than 1.8 on anything, what would a 3600 be? the only option would be a sempron like configuration but that would probably be released a year from now, if you need dual-core computing power, why are you going to hinder it by cutting the cache down? In a year though they might be interested in getting the value market

yeah that'll eventually happen. but if x2 3600+ came out it'd be a quicker way of getting an x2 at a low price.

By the time they got around to releasing it....the 3800x2 will be that price so figure lower if so and they would be from the same stamped core just like all the X2ies are 😛
