Im looking in to getting a sapphire x1950xt since its the cheapest XT

The retail one on newegg is $220

My first question is...is this the best option for that price range?

I know its better than the x1950pro but dont really know anything else about vid cards

actually you know what I really dont play games anymore....What would be a good card around $100 or so (can be somewhat higher) that will be great for my 19" LG Widescreen that runs at 1440 x 900 in windows vista ultimate 64 Bit nice

The X1950XT pretty much handles any game out there right now; I can play all the new games fine, and I'm running a single core 3200+, which some might consider outdated.

$220 for it is a great deal; in fact, the 7900GT and 7950GT are not even worth considering with the X1950XT so low in price. I bought it not three weeks ago for $250, and I thought that was a good price.

I don't really have any video card recommendations below ~$170. For anything, the lowest I'd go is something like a 7900GS or a X1950PRO, which can be had for around ~$170.

For $100 you're looking at a 7600GT. This card handled games fairly decently on my 19" at 1280x1024
About $50 more will get you a 7900GS or X1950Pro
