X1950XT - $215 after rebate at the 'Egg

If you do some research, the 512MB card is only faster at ultra high res. Not worth an extra $100-$150 for the majority of people.

Yea, but there's just something kweel about 512MBs of video RAM🙂 Plus I refuse to upgrade unless I double the RAM on my current card.

Be careful with Saphire rebates, I never received mine from them for my X1800XT.

In my experience, it took several months of waiting and an email to myrebates411 before I got my rebate for a Sapphire X850XT.

Makes a reasonably big difference in F@H. 256mb cards lag at desktop a lot where the 512mb ones don't.

It also comes with the really loud stock cooler from older 1900xtx cards. You should buy my 512mb x1950xtx in the FS/FT forums for $280.

In what ways does this keep up with a 8800GTS? In Crossfire mode? I can't find any benchmarks that support your claim.

Gotta love it when people don't include the RAM size...

I was once a proud parrot too. You brought shame on us all. I am now a phone. Thanks.

Yeah and from what I've read, after researching the pros and cons of going witht he 8800GTS, this card is supposed to blow all others completely out of the water, showing huge increases in performance. Granted this is mostly from word of mouth, or text, whichever. 🙂

I had a hard time getting my rebate for the X850XT as well. I e-mailed Sapphire through 1 of their web-sites and then sent another e-mail through a different web-site. Finally got my rebate, but it took quite a bit of effort.

Well here is a benchmark at 102*768 where the gts actually loses http://www23.tomshardware.com/graphics....elx=33&model1=608&model2=607&chart=196

but if you crank up the resolution... the gts takes back the crown by quite a huge margin i might add.

That's particular benchmark is quite obviously CPU-limited. Notice how everything between an X1950 Pro and the the 8800GTX is within 10% of each other? That's obviously not right. Who is going to buy any of those cards to game at 1024x768 with no AA?

Look in the video reviews right here at Anandtech. They use an XTX for comparison, and it's damn close with the 8800 GTS, even beating it in some areas. Considering the XT only gives up 5-10% from an XTX.....the 1950XT is very close to the 8800 GTS performance for roughly half the price. Anandtech recently named this card the outright best deal in their last roundup, for good reason.

Jeesh, I post a link thats a good deal, and I end up defending it, lol.
