Yea, and if it id indeed quiter and cooler I wanna see what nv fans come up with next as an excuse

Funny, back in the 9800/X800 days this was one of the arguments used by ATI fans against the 5800/5900.

BTW, before more crap comes, I'm coming from a 9700/9800/X800/X850 run.
No fan here, just end user.

The Nvidia selection was not as good in performance and was ALSO loud, this round ATI has the performance and I guess is loud. My two 1800xl's are not loud in my opinion because my cpu fan is much louder.

No no, the difference in performance was substantial in that case. Now the difference between the cards is smaller, with ATI winning some benchmarks whereas Nvidia has others.

At the end, I'm not talking about performance. I just wanted to point out that the same argument can be used for both sides. I hate hypocrisy.

You got a point, but it seems Nvidia has that "leader" thing that makes people believe whatever they say is best IS the best...which blows

Anyway i think the noise issue is overrated, if you game with a high end card it means you want an immersive experience, which means you have a nice audio setup, which means you wont hear anything other than the speakers... windows is not an issue since the fan calms down and shouldnt be noisy at all, so i dont see the point in peoples complaint, unless they play without sound which is just huh.. stupid?

The difference is not small it is very large, once games use more shaders you will see the true power of the 1900series along with the 1800 series for that matter. When you add crossfire it will kill the selections Nvidia has to offer. If you doubt this well just look at the oblivion review. Maybe I am wrong but why would Nvidia be moving to the unified architecture?
