I working on my first build. The directions for my X1950Pro say it needs a power cord only if one comes with it. One didn't, so I'm assuming the 512 versions must be the ones that need it. However, I do have a power cord I could use. Is there a need to do so? Would it be a problem if I did?

if your Video card has a power connector on it, then it will most certainly need to be connected to the PSU by the appropriate connector. (usually a 6 pin connector for PCI-E and a molex one for AGP).
