I don't plan to do sli or crossfire anytime soon but will a single x1900xtx perform worse on a nforce4 mobo than on a ati based mobo? Im asking this because the oem x1900xtx cost 499 at newegg and im sure it will beat the 7900 gtx at the same price.

Mine works great on my Nforce4-based board. You won't have any problems with it and I highly doubt you'll gain any performance moving to an ATI-based board except for other features unrelated to the gpu.

It'll be just fine. I'm currently running a 256MB Sapphire Radeon X800XT PE on an Abit NF7-S v1.2 (nForce 2 MCP). I have had 0 problems with this combination.:)

Any tests that show any improvement at all, usually there isn't, between an nforce4 mobo and an ATI mobo would mean one mobo would be better for ANY videocard. Mobos don't discriminate, it's just bad for business . . . ;)
