Fetch 4? . . . isn't that part of ATi's "workaround" for VTF?

No, it's not. It basically means more efficient operation on single-channel textures.

there is a SMALL diff on the FLOOR...the X100 shows something like dithering - but it's a driver (shader-compiler) issue - SO.,,,their drivers need a small fix....big deal 🙂
 
This texture dithering issue seems to be on par with the badly rendered shadows on the gun in Farcry. Almost a non-issue. Now, I'm not saying it shouldn't be fixed...but unlike shimmering or the purported gun flickering issue in BF2 some of you are reporting, it doesn't affect gameplay and you probably won't notice it during gameplay. I'm more worried about the flickering and shimmering reports...ATI needs to get it's 6.2 drivers out and hopefully squash most of the bugs soon.
