Hey, just wondering if there is a ajor difference between the 1900xt 512mb and 1950xtx. The xtx is £100 more which makes me wonder why if it is only 6-7fps more. Is there any logical reason for going with the XTX for the next year and a bit compared to the XT? Thanks 🙂

Joe

Just what I was hoping to hear 🙂 So there wont be a bigger diffence in FPS say...in a year or so? Or will it prety much stay the same :music:

Joe

You might think of going for an X1900XT 256MB if you don't plan on keeping it for a huge amount of time, they can be hard for £170. 256MB is about enough for now.

Thanks for the advice, but Im buying from a custom built online place, so there is limited choices, and no 256mb unfortunately.

Something I forgot to add: I do a lot of gaming, on high graphics on games like OB.

go for the X1900XT 512MB. Only thing is you'll have to put up with the annoying old stock cooler, the X1950XTX has a much nicer one on it. Now if you can get a HIS IceQ 3 X1900XT then do it and your ears will appreciate it and the card will run cooler 🙂

Thanks for the advice, special deal on HIS IceQ is £199 + plus vat so looks like the best choice since I have no reason for a 1950 XTX apparently 🙂

Joe

Yup - best bang for buck: X1900XT (at least right now).

About the HIS IceQ cooler?

By the way, isnt that cooler very similar to the one on the XTX? In other words isnt the XT an XTX with 5-10fps less?

Joe

Ps: IQ is the same right? 🙂

Just grab an Accelero X2 and your problem is solved.

How well does the X1950xt(x) overclock compared to the X1900xt(x)? Does the gddr4 or whatever help?
