So my latest upgrade is a 512mb x1900xt and I'm playing with the overclocks and so far...m'eh. Anyone care to chime in as to what they'd been able to get with their 1900xt and what cooler they were using??

I've got the stock HIS ICEQ3 cooler on here...I've been told it's very good. Damn thing sounds like a vacuum cleaner though :(

With a VF900-Cu, ATI Overdrive advises me to stick to:

Core: 680MHz
Memory: 1500MHz
Load Temperature: 90 degrees Celsius

These X1900 XT's don't overclock nearly as well as the 7900GT card I had before but they're a lot faster thanks to all the shaders so I'm happy.

I use 710mhz on the core and 800/1600mhz on the memory on an XTX with the stock cooler at 80% speed. The core voltage is 1.425V (which might be stock, not sure) and load temperatures are generally 82-85C. The core clock is decent, but my memory is not very good and won't go any higher.

In general, the X19x0 cards are stock clocked pretty close to their capacity and don't go much further without significant voltage adjustments. They put out too much heat to do that on air, but apparently go up nicely on water.

yeah, back then amd was actually trying to compete for the performance crown...man, times have sure changed, now we're just hoping that they'll have a decent midrange card with 2900 pro and/or 2900 gt.

Heh, as much as i loved my X1900 XT, i could never get it to OC.

I mean literally.
Even a 10 MHz bump in core or RAM caused issues.

But it ran beautifully at stock...
Not sure why i got such bad luck with it when most people could get over XTX speeds, but heh.

I've got the very same card you have. The HIS IceQ cooler is excellent. I've been running my card for over a year at XTX speeds (650/775) with zero problems, but for the heck of it I just ran the Catalyst overclocking tool and got 688/792. Not sure if it will be stable, but it's worth a try. And the temps people are reporting seem high - I honestly never passed 60C at load at XTX speeds, but I have two extra fans blowing on the card, and use ATI Tray Tools to set fan speed, which basically never goes over 50%. The sounds isn't too bad for the speed and temps.
