X1900XT - Driver Problems solved?

??? What problems are you referring to? I went from an x800xt pe to an x1900xtx with no problems. If you're talking about going from an nvidia card to an ati card just uninstall your video drivers, reboot into safe mode and run driver cleaner to remove all nividia drivers from the system. Shut down, swap cards and all should be well.
 
ATi have far less problems than nVidia I can tell you that, especially in games and settings that aren't actively benchmarked.
 
I don't think there should be any stability problems in most cases. That thread is somewhat old and some of those game incompatibilies have been fixed since then.

That being said, it seems that the latest 6.3 Catalyst set has broken something in one older game that I play a lot and causes BSODs when you start it up. I was about to buy an X1900 XT last week until this came up.
