X1900XT Crossfire on a Asus A8N-SLI Prem?

Before I get flamed - I'm not talking about trying to run Crossfire on a SLI board.

Currently I've got a Asus A8N-SLI with a single 7800GT. I want a new card, so I'm looking at the X1900XT - in particular, this one:

It's a Crossfire-ready card...

So my question is this - are there any problems running a SINGLE crossfire-ready X1900XT in a SLI motherboard like the A8N-SLI Premium? My plan is to eventually move to AM2/Crossfire, so this is just an interim step.

I'm guessing there should be no issues, but I want to be sure before I pull the trigger on a $250 card.

Thanks!

Thanks - I assume the correct PCI-E slot is generally "north" one closest to the CPU socket... right? Of course, I can check the manual when I get home :)

Follow up question - is this a good idea? Is the X9100XT the card I should be looking at in the sub $275 price range?

I'm pretty sure at this point that I should bypass 7800GT SLI, based on 1) getting an identical eVGA 7800GT is looking pretty hard to do, and 2) If I spend $200 on a 2nd 7800GT, for a little more money I think I'll be getting a lot better performance with something like a X1900XT, based on what I've read on sites like THG and Anand.

Thanks!

I switched from SLI'd 780GTs to an X1900XT and I was pleased. You might get a bit higher minimum frames in some games with the 7800GTs but you also get some of the annoying nuances of SLI.
