Just built a new rig with x1900xt sapphire oem. In the CCC information area it shows this information. Why does the core clock show 500 MHz, and especially why does the memory clock show only 594 MHz? Am I missing something really simple?

Once again, those are 2D clocks. It clocks down the core/memory when in 2D. When you go into 3D (such as a game), it clocks them both up.

OK, thanks for the reassurance.

In the ATI OVerdrive, after running auto configurator, requested core is 621 and requested graphics memory is 720. I also now know that there is a difference between actual memory clock and "effective" memory clock. Taking that into consideration, these numbers seem right.

Combination of learning curve of a newbie builder and needed reassurance after buying >$400 video card.

Thanks for the help. These forums have been invaluable for my new build experience.

Yea same here, I was like what the crap is this. I received an underclocked video card. I didnt know this because I have previously been an nvidia owner and i can say their driver panel is soo much easier.
