X1900XT and VF900

Those of you with the X1900XT and the VF900 did you plug the fan into a mobo connection or the connection on the card. My cooler comes tomorrow but dont have my new mobo and CPU yet but i was curious about this for when I do the build.

Why is that so funny, the cooler has a fanmate 2 with a reallly long wiring setup so people can choose either way to connect it.
 
uhhh, the VF900 has a three prong power connector.

Does the X1900XT has a three prong power plug? because i wouldnt see the reason why video card companys would put a RPM sensor on the card. :\

So I take it by doing this the fan would run at one speed and never throttle up and back and you could set it with the fanmate fro considstant speed, or did you just run it at 100%?

The stock fan is a 3 prong yes, I am just curious how people set theirs up to balance cooling with noise.

I just had it go at 100% all of the time.

I had mine plugged into the motherboard as well. The plug on the vf900 doesn't fit the plug on the card.

Heh well that takes care of the option to try either since it doesnt fit the card. Did you also run it at 100%?
 
you MUST plug it into the motherboard or directly to an adapter from the psu. you cannot connect it to the card itself as it doesn't fit the power connector on the card... you'll see. you'll can just use the fanmate 2 to change the speeds and noise levels...

which is my original statement. I was going to ask how the hell you got it to fit.
 
Damn sounds like it might be annoying. The Accelero X2 is not the best thing around but it is really practical. I have modded my case in a way that takes advantage both card's intake fans 🙂
 
Cooler arrived today so I put it on the card just to check it out and I must say its a very nice piece. I dont have it in to test temps but installation was a breeze, I did plug in the fan just to here it and its VERY quiet running at full speeed so I prob wont be using the fanmate.
