The beginning
Link to X1900 being beaten by 7800GTX512 <-- they ignored the 7800GTX512 SLI being beaten by the 7800GTX regular in SLI, but never mind.
They ignored the big B&W2 bug. (ATi says it's an application bug, but...)
This one is just hilarious
Bugged again

And we finish on some 90% not-truths (Crossfire for X1800/X1900 only vs SLI for any nVidia card (I think))

Some amusing things to point out there by nVidia, if they are by nVidia.
I think the most amusing thing is touting how great multi-GPU solutions are for users and then referencing CPU limited games while they're at it :)

That is just laughable. They must think buyers of high-end cards are idiots.

Wow, they sure convinced me... I think I better sell my x1900xt and buy a gtx512  - NOT

Nv propaganda as usual. And even those slides are about 2 weeks late.

14.8 frames/sec in B&W for a crossfired X1900XTX. Ouch. On one hand, that's only .8 frames/sec over a single 7800GTX and 1.7 frames/sec over a single X1800XT, on the other hand, still ouch.

And that last page is just a riot.

I don't think graphics card companies think buyers of high end cards are necessarily idiots. Now, buyers of SLI/Crossfire on the other hand...

Mostly, this is just for laughs. Both Ati and Nv post BS slides about the competitor.

You missed the fact that X1900's in Crossfire scored lower than X1900 single cards...

Some of those pics show almost no AA/AF its BS for sure. (This is where ATI wins as they take less of a hit)

So whats your take on the new card. Awesome? How are the new cats working on it? Overclocking ironed out yet? Too many questions?:D

On the last page it says "7800 GTX 512 Available Now."

Can anyone actually find a link for one in stock? All I see are out-of-stock/preorders, and it looks like the prices have actually gone UP.

Overall, the performance is a huge jump over my modded gto. I only play at 1280x960 due to monitor limitations, but even at that res it's well worth the money. I ran the FEAR stress test at max settings, and my 16pipe gto at 580/590 would get 20/39/91 fps min/avg/max. The xt at stock settings gets 29/66/178. Overclocking is a bit PITA compared to the gto because now I gotta deal with all these additional steps, like disabling some ati services, 2d/3d speeds, manual voltage adjustment, and incomplete support from Ati Tray Tools. I havent determined the limit of this card yet, but so far I tried 670/770 and the card ran those clocks no problem. I'm looking forward to an updated version of ATT. Also the new 6.2 cats work without issues. I have not installed CCC/.net, but I might just have to in order to try out those new IQ features.

The cooler, however, takes some getting used to. I was using a zalman vf700 on my older cards, and compared to that any stock cooler is a dustbuster. The old card's stock cooler sounded like the noise of air rushing through tight space which results in a somewhat tolereble hissing sound. This one, however, makes a distinct turbine whine, which is more annoying. The good part is that the cooler only reaches 100% speed at boot up. At idle I cant hear it over my case fans (which are also fairly quiet at 1500rpm), and during load it becomes louder but not loud enough to bother me.

The heat this thing generates is also not to be taken lightly, and while I could easily install my zalman vf700 on the new card to keep it quiet, I'm hesitant to do so since it will dump all the heat inside my case. Maybe one of these days I'll try it anyways.

Overall, I'm happy with the card, and there's little reason to complain when you get that kind of performance for under $500.

Sounds good!! Thanks for the rundown on it. I have a zalman or 2 lying around to throw on it (my mobo just lays out on the table so no worries on case temps), so this is going to be tempting.....

Edit- quite the selective benchmarks in OP - can make anything look as bad/good as you want if you dig deep enough.

Who's to say a lot aren't? Heh. I do agree with the slides that SLi is superior to Crossfire. It doesn't default to tiling, you can create custom profiles, has no master card requirement and a better chipset on the market (until RD580 comes along anyway). Doesn't matter though, I'm fairly certain R600 will remedy most if not all these minor problems. Both Crossfire and SLi are fairly stable platforms with SLi being a bit more matured. The real issue is that the best SLi you can get for a decent price is 7800 GT/X SLI. The 512 GTX Phantom Edition card is nowhere to be found still.

I'm guessing this is another leaked marketing presentation meant for resellers. I'm also guessing many of them don't even read reviews or keep up with card prices, if this will sway them.

some UKe-tailers still have it in stock.

xfx extreme and normal GTX512's are out atoverclockers.co.uk but they do have the BFG 512 for a snip under £650 (this sites overly expensive in comparison to others)

no thanks!

Scan sell XFX, MSI, EVGA,ASUS,Leadtek 512's but they only have the EVGA in stock (which isnt as suprise since it costs £580)

QFT.

ATi has done it PLENTY more than nVIDIA, however. When's the last time we saw this from nVIDIA compared to ATi? ATi's done it since at least the x800 launch, and several times to boot.

lol

AFAIK, Nvidia was the one to start all this crap and you might have forgotten their recent Crossfire one. Needless to say Nvidia pretty much started the trend and both do it equally now.

Umm...no. Do some research. ATi started this trend, not nVIDIA. And actually, I think it was before the X800, but not 100% sure. Come on, man, don't be goin FUD on us.

Well your "ATI does more" is FUD then. ;) :D

Like I said AFAIK, maybe some one can shed more light on who was actually the trendsetter. (Wonder how long before ATI joins AEG :D )

That's hilarious, Ronin of all people trying to preach about FUD. The same guy that posted FUD CCC pictures in a sad little attempt to troll and got caught. Sad little guy...

Oh of course Ronin would never stoop so low as to post peak load memory usage and pass it off as normal usage.

Keep preaching, child. My memory usage is what I saw. If you don't like it, tough. The fact that you would presume to accuse me that I specifically timed a screenshot to show higher memory usage is laffable at best. Christ, you're rich. Do you go to every thread and post the same drivel? Yes, I think you do. Get some new content, because your current stuff stinks.

Not to mention, bringing an argument that has nothing to do with the conversation at hand is even better. So, to follow your lead and stating something I've already said, stones and glass houses.
