x1800xt Artifacts when in 4X FSAA or HDR mode

My specs:

AMD 64 4000+
2GB Corsair RAM
Sapphire x1800xt 256MB

Ok.. Playing Oblivion, highest setting in 1600x1200 with HDR enabled it artifacts after 5mins and suddenly video signal dissappeared.

Playing HL2 Lost Coast, HDR turned on.. after 3 mins, a circle of color bars and then artifacts and then signal lost.

Playing CS:S, FSAA 6X - no issue

Running ATI Tool, running artifact finder. No problems at 600/700 speed, once pushed to
615/724, artifacts and then signal lost...

Ok guys, should I return the Sapphire x1800xt 256MB card or there is any fix to this? bigger HSF?
 
SOunds like overheating maybe? What are your temps? Try to log your temps so u know exactly how hot the card gets when it starts artifacting.

Also, try a different set of drivers.

My X1900XTX does the same thing when I push the overclock too far. You just might have a bum overclocker.

If your temps are ok, try raising the core voltage in ATI Tool, that should give u some overclocking head room.
 
I increased the fan speed to 36% from 25%

The temps are 62 Celsius so I don't see any issue but I will definitely try the voltage bump.

Raise the core voltage to 1.3v and try it at 625MHz clock speed.
