Someone should tell Rollo his account is being used by someone else.

I've never been a huge multimedia person, but have always liked the AIW series.

This one is no exception, and I was surprised by the level of gaming performance it provided.

Looks good to me.

And lo, h*ll's weatherman just issued a frost alert for the northern and western flamaburbs with possible freezing of eternal flames by mid armagheddon,

I am stunned. I am ... falling ... to ... the ... ___/\__/\___/\______/\________/\_______________________________________________

I've never seen the point in buying a bundled gfx card / tv tuner. Graphics card technology changes much more rapidly than tv tuner innards. I guess it might make sense for an HTPC.

 x 2 seriously though I dont know why Rollo would like this and not the vanilla XL as far as gaming performance is concerned since they provide the same gaming performance.

No, it's 100% genuine Rollo. Was a good review, and like I said, I've always thought the AIWs were a neat idea.

BTW- I talked some smack abou the XTs cooler in another thread tonight if it makes you guys feel better? ;)

This is just hillarious. As soon as I saw the title I had to read the thread for the replies and so far they're great!

I still got your back Rollo! :D

The benchmarks look great for the XL, but they don't match up with AT's numbers. Dunno if its methodology or drivers or platform or what.

Holy crap it's even longer than the regular X1800XL/XT! Tough squeeze in most cases...

Looking good with the black fan on black PCB (though can you imagine if they did white on a white PCB, like the Sapphire motherboards? That would be SICK!).

Solid dongle/remote/etc. Good card for those who need the functionality.

Ruby's so sexy

But goddamn, they keeping making these newer cards longer & longer :(
I can barely fit my X850XT PE in my case (since teh HDDs take up all that space on the bottom)
...if i wanted to get anything from the current gen, i'd not only have to upgrade my mobo, but my case as well...

That white Sapphire stuff looks like ass to me. Blue, green, red, black- these are the colors for PCParts- not white, orange, and yellow, IMHO.

Make speed, noble defender! Your cause is just, your path righteous, and a seat at Ortons right hand in the kingdom of heaven awaits.

If you, and 4-5 like you who have never even seen a X1800XT, post that it is no more noisey than the west wind whispering through the pines on Mt. Olympus, people will surely disregard the opinions of those who have only used the card and measured it's sound out put with mechanical devices.

For who knows better than an ATI DEFENDER, the true nature of ATI cards they have never seen?

Not the cards owners, surely not.

Go, Godspeed!

;)

The ATI X1800XL AiW looks good and nobody does the AiW stuff like ATI but it's not much faster than a Radeon X850XT so it would be a good idea to go with an older model AiW and wait for the R600.:)

That is an awesome card... amazing benches too... takes down the 7800GT in a bunch, without problems... dang!
