X1800LE

So now we have at least 4 Phantom Edition cards...

I don't understand all this R520 news when ATI says the product is still 4-6 weeks from launch!

dont forget that other x800 theyve made

they have x800GT, GTO and apparently a GTO2

There has been so much conflicting info I'm just going to wait till I see the card or info directly from ATI before I believe anything.

I know that ATI probably has much better performance per pipe now, but on the surface, it seems like they arent moving forward whatsoever. 12 pipes makes me think X800pro supercharged.

good point...but remember there's a market other than the high end to cater for...

or maybe you forgot?

12 pipes 450/900. Probably a slightly quicker card than a X800pro with SM3.0 support.

Unless those are some Extreme pipes, that card is no faster than my OC'd x800. Which might put close to the performance of a stock 6800gt is some cases, but unless this thing is available for <$200 there's no reason for it's existance other than to sell defective r520xt chips and to confuse people. I wonder how this would compare to a high clocked rv530.

This card will be the cheapest version of the R520 core on the market and will be there to fight 6800 LE cards.

It isn't supposed to be their top card. This is their attempt to bring SM3.0 to the masses.

Well, rest assured that someone will buy it.

Speculation is entertaining, but I agree with the perspective of waiting for the review(s) before forming a comparative opionion.

they've really confused everyone at this time...hopefully they have good performing cards at a good price.
