Just to shut hte Nvidia fanboys up🙂.

Althought no one in their right minds should be ordering the XL right now.

I just got one through work a X1800XL "gigabyte". i will see how far this dady can go in OC 🙂

What kind of clocks were you able to get with your XL tuteja? I'd like your results and a few others to credit/discredit something the INQ. and Dave at beyond 3D said.
There is a separate thread for this if you could post your results in there.

Here

So where are the results?? I had my 6800 unlocked and oc'd in about 5-10 minutes when I installed.....I see he has been on this morning already....I wonder if that means less then stellar....

Reading his post, I got the impression that he hadn't actually received the card yet, I could be wrong though... and some people are less rabid about getting their hardware up and running, although I am in the same boat as you, Duvie 🙂

Nat

Although he did say he works for Gigabyte, which leads me to believe he didn't go through online vendors and just got one from Gigabyte directly. Employee benefits and all.

Nope. Call me when there's a price drop.

I would be interested to see someone's rationale on why this card, the X1800XL, is worth more than the 7800GTX.

It's like anything else, products start high, move lower as supply/demand set the real price. Early adopters always pay extra.

I'm thinking tuteja got his for dirt cheap since he works for Gigabyte. That is the only incentive I can see for purchasing one of these right now.

That and if you had the money spare it would be kinda fun (IMHO 😱)...i thought this kinda thing would be right up your alley Rollo 😉

That is how I took it...Kinda like the pentium D users were when I asked them to benchmark and OC their chips...they were excited about it initially then never came back...I think that speaks volumes...

Normally it would be, but with the return of SLI I've already bought eight video cards this year. (and still have six of those, and others!)

I was planning to buy a X1800XT, but got a X2 4600+ instead. ATI should have got this stuff out faster, now the only way I'll likely buy one is if I see a good deal somewhere on FS/FT.

Finally? It dropped $40 in 5 days, thats pretty fast, and a pretty big drop in price.

Still too much for me, but nice to see. Anyone who doesnt agree, is bias.
