LOL, whoops

Edited the Link.

Umm...its not amazing? Oh damn, it runs on DD2 while the 6600GT runs on GDD3. Crap...but would it still be a good buy? If I can get a lot of positive feedback on it, I'll buy it. If not, I'll just save my money for future components.

well for the cash $125 I thought it was a pretty good option. I need it to tide me over for around 3 months or so.

It's around the performance of a 6600GT. Not a bad option, and it overclocks pretty well from what I've heard.

Didnt realise it was AGP. :)

The X1600 pro isnt mindblowing, and it barely beats a 6600GT. Theres not much to choose from in AGP, but dont buy the 512mb one, because the X1600 pro cant utlise that memory. (Reminds me of the 6200 with 512mb of Vram.. )

Lol, I'm stuck with AGP til I make enough money. I'll make a new rig when the time is right (DX10, Vista ;)

Isn't mindblowig eh? Alright, looks like I'll just hold on to my money. Thanks guys

well the thing is if you want some of your games to run better you can buy the card and sell it later. Hell if you hate it then could ebay it. DX10 isn't coming out for a while btw since vista got delayed... Personally I'd make the upgrade but what are you coming from anyway?

512MB version is a good waste of RAM and money. That card doesn't have enough horsepower to ever do a resolution needing that much texture memory. It's a decent card for the money though.

Pick up a used 6800gt agp or 6800gs. You won't regret it! I just spent $150 on a used 6800gt to replace my 9800pro, and the difference is night and day. Great value!

I'm coming from a:

Intel P4 2.4 GHz Northwood
1536MB of PC2700 RAM
Some weird ECS Mobo (Yes, I know they suck but it came with the processor, LOL)
ATI All-In-Wonder 8500DV 64MB
Seagate Barracuda 250GB and 160GB
and the other crap, I don't know

I think you should save your money for a new PC.

Even an X1600 PRO is going to be bottlenecked by a 2.4 GHz P4, methinks.

Its not the 2.4ghz P4, but the ram is PC2700 i.e DDR333. Hence no good, and the fact that the motherboard is severly outdated to waste money on upgrades.

Op just save up and buy a new PC.

He needs an AGP card, all the GF 7 series cards, except for the 7800GS, are PCIe.

Your best bet is to pick up a used 6600GT AGP or 6800GT AGP from the FS/T forum or eBay. The 7800GS isn't really a good buy, I used to have one. Its only real advantage is that it runs cooler than a 6800GT.

From a gaming perspective going from an 8500 will be a big improvement methinks...

Yeah, sorta... I can still own the on the battlefield in BF2 and CSS. The FPS is about 30~40-ish. I have to sacrifice my eye candy in BF2 though.

Alright, I guess I'll just have to either look for a cheap 6(6/8)00GT then. Thanks for all your guy's help.
