I'm thinking of picking up a Dell 1505, it will be use primarily for school work but during this summer it will be used for some gaming (mostly WoW). How poorly does the x1400 actually perform? What other options would I have in a sub-$1800ish 15.4 laptop with at least 1GB ram, a nice size HDD, and a decent warranty that has better gaming ability? I've been searching but haven't found anything that seems comparable for the price, especially with the deals Dell seems to frequently have.

Thanks!

When I get my e1505 in a week or two, ill install a game or two to compare with my desktop 9800XT to see which one wins and update this thread. I havent seen any comparisons between the X1400 and 9800XT.

Dont know if this means anything but I tested my new E1505 with 3dMark05 and scored 1973. Its a T2500 (2.0 Duo Core) w/ X1400.

My 2 1/2 year old desktop which is is P4 2.4 O/C to 3.2 w/ 9800xt scored almost 4000.

I havent tried playing any games on my E1505 because it just came last night. Being the E1505 is a newish model, hopefully they will offer a real video card before the new model comes out that I can upgrade to.

I didnt buy the E1505 for gaming but Im still a little disappointed with the score.

Thanks for the help so far. I guess what I'm curious about is how it compares to say my 9700 or my GFs Ti4200. I can't imagine it'd be worse than the 4200 but I'm not so sure about the 9700. On the flip side I'm not picking it up primarily for gaming anyways. Decisions decisions...
