What I'm curious about is how many of these projects actually get finished. I've seen lots of projects get funded, but not many finished products so far.
 
meh I don't think anyone will chip in, it's either a scam or an advertising trick.
I agree that these crowdfunding things look sketchy to me, I don't think people behind many of those things can actually pull it off. I see how it can be used for local community/build a well in africa projects though.
 
I dont really understand how kickstarter works.

Can just anyone come up with a project and ask for funding?

For anyone who pledges funds that money goes directly to the project creator's bank account to do with as they please?

And if the project never actually gets its target funding what happens to the money you pledged?
 
Saw the title and thought "new X-Wing game?! I'm all in." Then I actually read it and now I'm disappointed.

I'd like to say I'm surprised that it's already raised over $70k but people are stupid. Especially uber fanboys.
