I have an x-qpack and i know some others have had some heat issues. After I change my psu to a forton 450(moves alot less air) my temp went from 35 to 42 underload (the prob is on the lower part of my heatsink). I tried sevral things including adding a blow in my extra 5 1/2 bay. Finally, I flipped my fan around so it blows in instead of suxs out now my temps are 30 idle 33 load. Big dif. I did have to cut the grill out on the back to stop it from whisling.
I can now feel hot air being blown out of the vid card side and it blows cool everywhere else. I think this hot air use to be suxed out by the psu fan but now its suxed out the front by the passing air. Just thought I would let you know incase you where having the same probs as me.

Considering getting a qpack, want to use my antec PSU. I have heard that with some optical drives, a standard PSU may not fit. What drives will fit with it? My current drive is a NEC 3500, but I need to buy another drive as it is anyways for another system.

Lite-On drives seem to be the shortest around approx 170mm(6.69in). That also seems to be the same length as the drive rails themselves, so anything smaller is overkill.

I think the PSU in my QPack may be bad because I'm getting some spontaneous reboots and the MSI utility is reporting that the 12v rail is running a little hot (12.94, 13.04v, etc).

Has anyone replaced their stock PSU with something more reliable (that also fits in this case)? Which PSU did you go with and how is it working?

enermax liberty 500w for me. its a really good psu plus its smaller then other psu so it fits the Qpack nicely. there is a 400w version if you can't spring for the 500w. 22A on both 12v rails so thats enough to power a x1900xtx.

This is very misleading, both rails at 22A=road apples :p

Yes ! Each 12V line will deliver 22A but combined 12V output will NEVER exceed 32A.

The Zippy/Emacs HG-2 6400P rated at 400 watt will deliver 12V@30A@40C on a single
12V line. This over rating style ad-copy of dual rail PSUs is a PITA.

The EnerMax Liberty is a VG PSU, but plz do not promote 12V@44A. The Zippy/Emacs
PSM 6600P(600 watt)"only" has 12V@40A and it costs over $200 w/o modular and fancy paint.

OP, Brock, glad you found some cooling benifit by flopping a fan.

Thanks for the recommendation of the Enermax Liberty 500w. It is a bit smaller than most ATX PSUs (and for those who suggest the Antecs - they're actually nearly an inch LONGER than standard PSUs - so they definitely do NOT work in the Qpack, since they hit the drive cage even if you don't have an optical drive mounted).

The modular cables are nice, although they tend to have too many connections per cable, and every single cable seems to be 2-3x longer than it needs to be for the Qpack. No problem if you have some cable ties but still an issue some may want to avoid. I think even with the extra cable length there is still less unused cabling inside my box than there was with the stock PSU.
