but how did the phoenix get into her? In the TV show and comic book the whole phoenix saga involved those aliens and that other planet. I can't see them stretching it that much in the movies.

they changed a lot of story aspects in the movie though, so it's not impossible to change the phoenix story line.

No.
I have a specific question, but no one knows the anser and the thread has drifted off topic.

Is it possible to kill Wolverine with your average strategies? Bullets dont do it. Stabbing him doesnt do it. So what can you use to kill him? Obviously some abstract things like ingesting admantium (sp?) would work, but what normal means could you use to kill him? Would all of those soldiers been able to do it?

In the comic books, she saved the X-men when the ship was in trouble in space. When she died, the entity Phoenix contacted her and made her a deal. Phoenix made itself a perfect copy of Jean, and place the "dead" Jean in a regenerating cocoon in the ocean somewhere. Then Phoenix made itself forget this was done and show up as "Jean" revived.

Correct me if I was off.

I imagine you could incinerate him.

From the magic card :

Disintegrate deals X damage to target creature or player. That creature cannot regenerate this turn. If the creature is dealt lethal damage this turn, remove it from the game.

In one of the older issues of X-Men I have, Wolverine had all of his exterior flesh blasted away by a Sentinel, and it showed his bare, metal-infused skeleton laying there. He managed to regenerate from that, so there must have been a bit of flesh left somewhere.

With the glowing eyes throughout, I'll have to watch it again but I'm pretty sure in addition to the fiery eyes that there was a small phoenix in them. Of course Famke Janssen is gonna continue I would hope. I mean I guess they could rewrite the part and put another actress in, but technically she should look similar. If I remember correctly the phoenix looked like Jean grey.

Well, wasnt the huge outline of a pheonix in the water at the end of the movie a big enough hint as well?

Didn't Mystique say something to Wolverine about he being the only one that has ever scarred her? I think she is attracted to power, or she wanted to get some kind of revenge because he was able to best her in a fight. I think she keeps the scar as a reminder also.

I also believe Wolverine can be defeated by normal means, but it has yet to be done. However, he has been very close to death before, but hsi healing power and Jean Grey kept him alive.

And yes, Mystique was Rogue's foster mother in the comics, but given Rogue's age in the movie now, I don't think they will use this twist.
Mystique is also Nightcrawler's mother, but it doesn't look like they will be using that either. Maybe they think all the families would make it too coincidental and unbelievable, which would explain why Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are missing.

And Shelly21 has the beggining of the Phoenix Saga right, but I don't think that will matter because Singer has said he wanted to keep the movie realistic. The alien race thing won't work. So, we can expect to see a brand new Phoenix plot...

He would pretty damn hard to kill, I think in the later issues Magneto pulls the adamantium out of his body, nearly killing him, afterwards and his healing powers were increased, making him harder to kill, I am sure there is another way besides the adamantium, but it would be difficult. Perhaps decapitation might do the trick, but I doubt it.

they concluded that when jean was in contact with the magnetic sphere/glow thing magneto generated affected her

"jean, ever since liberty island, you've been acting... different"

a higher stage of evolution

Yeah, I caught that. Figured that was their rationalization.

Yah, my guess is that they will say Magneto's mutation machine mutated her in ways even he would not understand... But, I'm still curious what the plot will be as I doubt it will have anything to do with aliens, duels to the death, etc. My guess is that she will revive when she senses Cyke in trouble, and I'm guessing he will be in trouble when the Sentinels attack.

And Dolph, I think she keeps the scars as a reminder. Its been done in other movies, so why not here...

Oh yah, one other hting. When the Prof was targetting humans with Cerebro, did it look like the Prez had a headache to you guys? Everyone else was writhing around on the floor in pain, but he just looked straight up with eyes open... Just curious... Could be just an artistic shot I guess.

bone marrow maybe? I think maybe if you threw him in an incinerator for a day or two and cranked it all the way up...it'd kill the organic matter. Too bad there's no way to know for sure.
