people must be incredibly bored or the economy is recovering

85.1 Million in the first week basically means sequel

anyways, I wonder what numbers Star Trek and Terminator: Salvation are going to bring in

I would expect them to be greater than Wolverine.

There has been nothing in theatres for months now. I went and saw that movie even though it looked like it would suck. And it did.

I saw it just because I love the comics. I knew it'd be a punch-in-the-dick type experience and it was. Went home and watched the first 2 Xmen movies just to feel better.

The movie industry always does well in bad economic times because people crave escapist fantasies at times like these. I'm not surprised at all. Same as I wasn't surprised about the Fast and Furious movie.

Star Trek will probably also make a butt raping amount of money as well, especially with all the hype. I personally am predicting Star Trek: The Phantom Menance. I just haven't seen Jar-Jar yet.

There are a lot of semi-sweet looking movies coming out this summer and I expect almost all of them will make a ton.

This.

Good movies have been few and far between lately, with crap such as Paul Blart Mall Cop and He's Just Not That Into You sitting at #1 for a couple weeks at a time. Wolverine appealed to a lot of different target audiences...the problem is it's just not very good.

I didn't think that was a bad movie... I found it kind of interesting in fact. I am so jealous that the one guy got to feel up Scarlet Johannson 😱!

People LOVE watching bad movies

My friend watched street fighter a few months ago LOL

I mean srs, a 10 second check on RT will tell you all you need to know.

Saw in the paper that they are already planning a Deadpool / Ryan Renolds movie.

My $13 is in that $85 million somewhere.

All they got from me was an AMC coupon.

Does that count towards the $85 million?....

That doubles if you include the overseas openings. It completely paid for itself in 3 days, everything from Monday on is profit.
