I quit the comics hobby 8 years back and would like to get a grip on some of the action i missed.Im specifically looking for the cross-over series, namely:

1. Age of Apocalypse set(Weapon X, Factor X, X Man, Astonishing X-men,X-calibre, Generation Next, Gambit and the Externals and whatever "X Book" i forgot to mention on this series).

2. X-cutioners Song set(X-Factor #84-86, Uncanny X-Men #294-296, X-Men #14-16, X-Force #16-18).

3. The Onslaught series...no idea on whats included on this series.

Any idea/suggestions where can i get these books for cheap? Not into collecting them, just for the reading aspect.

Thanks!

BTW are any of the books here available in graphic novel versions?

I may have the X-cutioners Song and would be willing to sell it. Let me look at my collection tonight.

Why don't you try Mile High comics.com? Industry is in a rut right now, I got Alpha Flight 51 from them for around $5!!! Damn, first Jim Lee marvel work for next to nothing.

I have them all too. My first X-Men is from 1980 #106 I think. I started collecting in 1981 at #122 of the Uncanny X-MEN and went to about #175 then the art went down hill in my oppinion. I started back up in 1995 or so.. Love the X-MEN

I have them all, You can get them all in Trade Paperbacks. The Age of Apocalypse is the Best X-Men Crossover ever done and X-cutioner's song is a very good story too. I think the Age of Apocalypse is in 2 tradebacks, and all should be found for cheaper than buying all the issuses seperatly

Was it the ago of apocalypse where they had 4 different covers from the start of the series? I bought them all thinking they were all different. Oh well, at least I got the set now. :)

Stallion thats exactly why i stoped reading X-men all to gether. The multiple cover/buy all our books to get a crappy story scheme. has anyone noticed marvels new tactics? I was at the local comic shop and while talking to the owner and picking up Ulimate Spiderman, he told me how marvel is printing limited runs of each book and no reprints to make them "more collectable." Am I mistaken or wasn't Marvel the company the destroyed the collectablity by flooding the market with tons of crappy books with multiple covers and bad stories(check out Spiderman clone series).

Sorry if i sound pissed at them, but I am kinda. I have been collecting since 1980 and have books that range from 1962 to present(9000+ books!):D

More collectible? How would they make money then? Being more rare, only people making money are the people who buy it first then sell it at a higher price later. Unless Marvel chooses to make less and charge more for each issue. All in all, it doesn't make any business sense. If it's a damn fine story with damn good art, print as much as you can because people will eat it up...

Why the freaking concentrating on this limited crap. They gotta concentrate on going out to find the best writers and the best artists...

BlackFlagg, that's my thought exactly. I saw all the different covers and thought they were different books. I should of looked first but I didn't think they did crap like that. Each one was a 2 page cover shot and was like $6 or something. I was a little mad at first that I spent over $20 on the same comic.

Has anyone read The Ultimate Spider-Man? It's a pretty good book. You already know what's going to happen. Marvel is all screwed up, who knows what crazy things they are going to do.
