X-Men cartoons

well loved the movies, and reading up on wiki has got me wanting to learn more

and what better way to waste some time than to watch some xmen cartoons to give me the knowledge i want

what do you guys suggest is a good set to watch?

If you liked the movies you'll be blown away by the cartoons. Much, much better.

A good idea is to forget most of the relationships between characters that you've gotten from the movies, as they really changed some of them.

I just remember the series from the mid 90s. Any of the ones with Juggernaut, Phoenix, Apocalypse, Magneto, and Mr. Sinister are good. There's a few others such as Omega Red, and ones with Sabretooth (who you'll find to be a much cooler character than in the movies).

yeah ive read that the film characters are quite abit different, and curiously not as powerful as they are in the comics

nearly all of them are far more powerful than they let on in the movies, specially storm....who i read can control the weather over the whole planet and even the cosmic weather (solar flares etc) very awesome stuff.

i wanna see what the scarlet witch can do.....!

Really? The cartoons had poor animation and REALLY corny stories...it was like watching a soap opera at times, only the voice acting was worse.

I don't know what ones you're talking about, but the animation was good (not great, but still better than most cartoons) and the voice acting was really good.

I'm guessing you're a big fan of anime?

is there a decent place that might have these on dvd or even vhs? would like to get them by legit means, since good work is always worth paying for, call me weak but i always feel obliged to pay for good movies and music.

There are a few boxsets on Amazon; however, to the best of my knowlege, most EPs have not been released. I tried looking last year and couldn't find most episodes through legal channels.

I loved the Apocalypse series with Cable back when I was a todler, he was so bad ass. just thinking back on the times i'd wake up early every saturaday just to watch the cartoon.

Nope, would have to use illegal means to get most of them.

The 90s X-men cartoons are awesome. I watch them from time to time.
I have the entire series in XVID high-quality format on 3 DVDs (about 170 MB per episode).

You were speaking of the series on Fox in the mid 90's right? (I HATE animae btw). With the jerky animation and the constant love triangle subplots? Ugh. Spiderman from that era was the same way.

Now shows like Justice League show how it's supposed to be done 😉

I remember Fox airing all the "Days of Future Past" episodes in primetime one night and pretending they were a movie.
