Not exactly, its missing digital out and uses lower quality components. Right now there's this big craze of getting the main x-fi cards and switching caps around to turn it into a high quality DAC. Most people get the Xtrememusic, since X-ram is rather worthless. Nothing wrong with the lower profile x-fi cards though if this doesn't matter to you, they are still great solutions depending on your needs.
