x-fi issue

unfortunately, the only wires i have available are:
l-out
r-out
min-in
mic-power
l-ret
r-ret
ground

which dont match the one the poster mentioned in that link 🙁

I am assuming this would be how you would connect it instead, based on his directions it makes sense. BTW don't just blame Creative for this, not even all Motherboard manufacturers can have the same pin outs, although theirs are documented. I have no intention of ever using my front panel with my X-Fi my receiver already has a headphones out 🙂
 
thanks for the info, ill try it when i get home from work today.

this is corresponding to the 1 row of pins along the card right? the connects feel a little loose, not snug?
 
This thread should belong in the Anandtech archive since it stands to benefit a whole lot of users everywhere.
 
im eager to try this at home, but i read this cant be done everywhere i read, saying u have to use the creative front panel, which is stupid.
