Sup all some weeks ago i got a X-Fi XtreameGamer Fatality with the xram thing... the point is that... i had an audigy... and I was felling that the audigy was kinda old and I get the xfi (aka no more detail about how i get it).

After a while... I get rid of the old drivers from the audigy and clean their directories and such.. the put the x-fi... but when i place the x-fi the computer give me 1 long beep and 3 shorts... no matter what slot i place them.. is the beep simphony but all old audigy works fine in all slots... This is a real mess up... because computer runs audigy no x-fi.

To make things more interesting I get the x-fi to another computer.. and they work just fine.. omg.. then in another computer and fine... but they work in some crappy computers... that doesnt have even pcie.. and DDR lol....

Is like Xfi dont work in my computer but work in other ones.. and audigy work in mine omg!!!!....

After a while i check out the bios... and... internal soundcard... off... and everything else was fine... they dotn work... then a reset of cmos happend (i just use the jumper in the board ok) and the card still making my computer go beeper....

To get to the point quickly....

Is there any trick or well know problem with the xfi that have a fix to get the card running, anyone know anything that can help...????

honestly theres little reason to upgrade from an audiology unless you got the new card near free.

unless you reinstalled windows already its probably something else. if one card works, the other should too.

BIOS beep codes indicate a certain problem. in order to help you further, please list your exact system specs including BIOS version. Also, if you could try to fix your grammar. This is a forum, not AIM. What you wrote was a bit difficult to understand.

You could try looking yourself for the error.

Award Bios looks like this.
AMI Bios looks like this.

Like some sort of clearance for a store that is going to close.

Any chance your mobo is a nForce 4 mobo?

I dont understand... the Xfi say that all you need is a PCI slot... why this card doesnt like some boards or video cards that share some IRQ, isnt all of that already considered in the PCI standard?

This X-Fi problem is really frustrating, I got the X-Fi and never manage to make it work... Any idea of what to do next?

big secret, they had them at compusa closeout for that price. What video card are you using? Maybe try a different card if possible. Have you updated BIOS/ chipset drivers? Try disabling all of your USB ports in BIOS and see if it boots.

disable onboard audio in bios

boot and see if that helps.

if it does not put the card into the other slot.

Also by RT(F)M you'll find out the meaning of the beep code you get.

I had a similar problem. I have an Intel Badaxe2 motherboard and Geforce 8800GTS 512MB graphics card. When I install the X-Fi, Windows XP or Windows Vista x64 will not boot at all unless I am booting in Safe Mode. Once I remove the card, it boots up just fine. And this is before I even installed the drivers. I RMA'd the card to Newegg hoping it is a bad card and the replacement will work out for me.

There are known conflicts between the X-Fi and some video cards on some motherboards. The resource conflicts sometimes can be resolved by a PC BIOS flash to the latest version. I was never able to resolve my conflict between X-Fi and a late-model NVidia card, so the X-Fi went onto the shelf.

You can try changing PCI slots and trying to change Interrupts, etc. But I had no success with this.

The problem is that... they dont work in any of the slots.. only two of them, oh and I got the last bios for mobo....

what interrupts you mean? I board have something about PCI something from IRQ 3 to 15 and reserve. nothing that let me pick manually the IRQ.... and the slot playing with the cards go nowhere.. just black screen as usual....

? - Tried this yet?
? - Booting Windows in Safe Mode?
? - What do the beep codes mean?

Look up your mobo to see if others have had similar problems, may give you some ideas - like this off of a newegg review:
Good Board with a Big Problem

Tech Level: high - Ownership: less than 1 day
This user purchased this item from Newegg.com

Pros: *Decent layout. *eSATA port. *Q-Connect blocks really help with motherboard pinouts on cases with single-pin plugs. *Good BIOS settings
Cons: *Creative X-Fi and Audigy 2 cards are known to have major problems with this board. They will either stop working or just start squealing. Only solution currently is to reboot. Neither Creative nor ASUS has given solution yet. Working theory in the forums is that it's a conflict with USB ports; disable all your USB ports, and the X-Fi works. Also, the BIOS update utility won't install if you've installed Creative's drivers. Also. *No extra SATA or IDE ports *Floppy drive connector at bottom of board *Southbridge heat sink was dislodged when it arrived, and the onboard motherboard probe runs at 50C *Northbridge heat sink has ~2mm clearance from graphics card *No Q-Connect block for audio pins or 2 of 3 USB pinsets *Only 2 PCI slots, so if you use Crossfire you can only have 1 card (which is bad for me since I use both the Creative X-FI and ATI TV tuner.

? - Did your BIOS update actually work?
? - Did you disable USB ports?

You seem kind of passive about following up. Don't expect lots of help then.

waiting for bios update to see if this fix the problem... Too much time and no solution at all....
