Wow >100 views and no reply? I'm interested in this, but is there any other product that are at this price and this competitive? For gaming? I also liked the breakout box, easier access to the headphone jack 🙂
 
Speculation is that Creative will come out with a new card for Vista, which is why you are seeing deep price cuts on X-fi. The current drivers for X-fi are horrid in vista. Will they make better ones? Only creative knows, but their track record sucks.

 
how come price of the x-fi cards drop so fast? are there new sound cards coming from creative?

i'm really considering upgrading my platinum to the elite version, but i just don't want to get it right before a x2-fi or something comes out.

edit: posting at work, so i'm a little slow and didnt see Elixer's post before i posted. their x-fi drivers suck for Xp, too. but being a gamer, you pretty much have no choice, but creative 🙁
 
if you have the $, get it. It is an awesome sound card in my gamer. I have the Auzentech (had / have the first two) in my HTPC and I really prefer the elite pro.
 
I've heard a lot of people saying that the driver sucks, but what's so bad about it? I have the Audigy and the Audigy2 ZS and don't see anything obviously bad with the drivers. Anyways, thanks for the heads up Elixer. Also, thanks vojky, this is a very decent deal. And I agree with Snowice, I really don't want to get it and something WAY better comes out. Is there any source(s) that can help us see a bit into the future? Anyone knows if Creative will release something new?
