How are Xconnect psu's? Do they work well, are there any problems? Im looiking for a psu that wont clog my computer with cables.

As an owner of a X-Connect, its a very good PSU. Just beware: do not plug in every cable or else ull kill it very quick. It's good for the price, but if u have money buy the newer Ultra PSU's.

I agree that these power supplies are crap. They look nice, but they are not reliable at all. My buddy bought one back when it was close to 100 bucks and he had to get it replaced twice! But yeah, there have been a couple threads in the past about this PSU and i would never buy it even for 20 bucks.

I guess this is like any other "Tiger Direct" or "Thermaltake" debate...some love it, others hate it.

Hell, after years of debating the crap out of these things, just go get one and see how it works. If it works well, good. If not, shoulda got something better then eh?

Welcome to the ATF, Mielke...

OP likes waving red flag in front of bull.... Ultra Products is part of the TigerDirect/Infotel/Systemax conglomerate. None of them have a savory reputation with those in the know. Just wait until you have to deal with the warranty...

The X-connect is very attractive, and hard to beat for $20. For $100, there are many better performing options, though few are as good looking as the X-Connect.

One thing to watch out for is that some mobos (such as the DFI NF4 boards) insist on 24pin connectors, and not 20-pins adapted to 24 pin. The clearance X-Connects are 20-pin PSUs. Also, the cables are extraordinarily stiff and hard to work with, though they are gorgeous under a black light.

If you are spending $20 on a PSU, it is as good as you can find. If you want to OC, spend more money and get something better. I have the OCZ modstream in my main rig, and the OCZ Powerstream is even better. Neither one can be had for anywhere close to $20, however.
