The X-connect is very attractive, and hard to beat for $20. For $100, there are many better performing options, though few are as good looking as the X-Connect.
One thing to watch out for is that some mobos (such as the DFI NF4 boards) insist on 24pin connectors, and not 20-pins adapted to 24 pin. The clearance X-Connects are 20-pin PSUs. Also, the cables are extraordinarily stiff and hard to work with, though they are gorgeous under a black light.
If you are spending $20 on a PSU, it is as good as you can find. If you want to OC, spend more money and get something better. I have the OCZ modstream in my main rig, and the OCZ Powerstream is even better. Neither one can be had for anywhere close to $20, however.
