X-Connect PSU and XP-120/SI-120

The 4-pin power cable cannot fit on the side of the XP-120 mounting bracket. It cannot really fit under the heatsink itself, either.

Does anyone know if it will work with the SI-120, or if X-connect sells a low profile 4-pin mobo power cable? I know the SI-120 probably has enough clearance, but the mounting bracket (which is the biggest problem), looks about the same.

I can't believe I missed this. Are there any reviews that say this?

EDIT: What I will end up doing is probably getting a 4-pin to 4-pin extender, with the old, smaller plug, and using that. I hope that will work.

Bump:

Does anyone know where to get a replacement mounting bracket for the XP-120 for the K8 sockets?

Do your homework and google it....
also it would probably take you less time to search the subject than to wait for a response from here.....

Dang! Your feel'en fiestey today JEDI! Cool your jets man 😀

Farmer i have seen what you want for your K8 at directron or jab-tech iirc.

On your plug.......Why don't you just switch shells with your old PSU if it has a shorter one.

Or, remove the four wires, shorten the top of the present one and reinsert the wires. Just note the positions they are in before you take them out. How do you remove the Molex pins?
Google it...😀

I was Googling. I was just wondering if anyone encountered the same issue. The X-Connect was $5 after rebate at Fry's yesterday. I couldn't resist...

That's a good idea. I don't know if I want to do that or just get a 4-4 extender.

Directron. Of course.

For now, I'm switching over to my smaller HSF, and putting the XP-120 on ice. Thanks for all responses.

$5.00, eh? About what it's worth... Keep an eye on your drive power modular cables, they tend to come loose.

Yep. Doesn't look like it works either. I just tried it and it doesn't POST, gives me a screen full of white dots. I thought I screwed up my CPU, but I hooked the Antec back in and it worked like old. Hmmm....

Ok, well it's not that it doesnt work completely. It's just that half the plugs seem to not work...

 You really are a Farmer

"OK,well it's not that it doesn't work completely."

Your PSU either works well or it's not a good unit. Half the plugs not working is a POS PSU.

They were sold for $5........The recycling fee 😀

RMA it and get an Aspire PSU. It will make a good opening for chapter two.

There is a VG used Zippy over in for sale or trade........Buy it.

Yeah it's strange. I almost feel like I'm doing something wrong.

No need. I have and old Antec that worked fine. No more new PSUs. The next one I get is going to be PCP&C.
