I read a review over at Avault, and it was a lot more positive than other's out there, so I decided to pick it up. Highly reccomended, it's what serious sam should have been, IMO. And contrary to popular opinion, it won't wreck your opinion of the Xcom franchise, as it recreates some of the old maps and alien ships (complete with cows in storage) which is good for a bit of nostalgia. At 800*600 32 bit, everything is fluid, but I wouldn't try a higher rez because I've never seen so many explosions and moving enemies on screen. They might not be as big as Sam's, but it's a lot more interesting with the third person view, the more durable and faster character, as well as the weapons upgrading and research--not to mention the quest to find all the bonus icons to gain access to a special bonus level which appears after every level. It's just damn fun, though not quite the bargain that Sam was, it's well worth checking out.

It picks up the pace pretty quick after that though.

I have to wonder about people who claim to uninstall immediately after starting something up. It's like really, why bother warezing if you don't get any enjoyment out of it. Oh, that's right, you bought it. Sure.

Think whatever you want. If I bought it, it was a waste of money. If I downloaded it, it was a waste of bandwidth and a perfectly good CDR. Still doesn't make a difference in my opinion of the game.

The fact that I hated the third person interface and the "kill something and run around and pick up the 10 powerups that result" gameplay was not gonna change.

Personally, I didn't like it and would definitely get Serious Sam instead of X-com.

one gun at a time kind of sucks, i like switching guns around depending on the situation. also, the graphics arent all that great.
