I may be going blind - went to the customize page - did not see any checkboxes for this item or any where. Just radio buttons, forum selection list box and the color controls.

Switched to IE and went looking.
Still no go.
Deleted cookies and scratch files from within IE.
Still no go.

Can see it code when I view source, saved the file to local and then opened it using IE.
No go

I used that option for a little while way back when FT 3.0 was implemented but I quit 'cause it has a lot of quirks, especially when copying and pasting from another website, etc.

If you've ever seen people who have weird HTML in their posts a lot of times it's caused by using the WYSIWYG editor.

aves, actually it has nothing to do with the editor :) It's because you are copying text through IE and it copies all the objects associated with the text, same goes for copying from ms word. You think you are just copying text, but you are not you are copying full html, we dont allow html here so it gets translated to text.

Not a quirk, security.

Yeah I knew it was due to IE copying all the HTML, by quirks I just meant that your posts will not always turn out like you expected and you end up having to edit your posts to get them looking right.

Now if the editor had a "Paste As Plain Text" option that would be sweet. :)

Another thing is that if you paste a link into the editor like this one http://forums.anandtech.com/ when you click it loads in the same window rather than a new window which I don't particularly care for.

In the end it doesn't matter because I just use the standard editor.

I used the enhanced one - for about an hour - until I realized that I prefer the standard editor. I know most of the common formatting codes by heart, and can type them more quickly than I can select them with the mouse. Also, I prefer to use Mozilla, so the enhanced editor is a no-go for me.

The thing I like about the standard editor is that I can use IEspell spelling checker with it, were as with the WYSIG it won't work.

I used to, but it never quotes correctly. So I stopped using it. I would prefer it though.

Just started using it. If you copy and paste out of word, what do you do about the [font] that comes up?
