What the hell is a pirate party?

a party where you are encouraged to dress as a pirate, cause well thier just cool like that. They also had a couple kegs for free, a wooden cask of rum being passed around. And occasionally the electricity would get cut out and a group of pirates would come and raid the party, throwing water balloons, smoke bombs(outside of course), and stealing beers.
and people think kansas city is lame... well it is most of the time.

wtf i read it as "private party"

I did something like that back in HS...friend of mine had dated this girl I had always kinda liked, she and I were really good friends too for years (since preschool kinda thing). Either way, they dated a while, then broke up. I tried being friends with both of them, but eventually made a move on her one Valentine's day, and we started dating for a while after that. My friend knew I liked her before I did anything, and he was one of the first that I told of my plan for Valentine's Day, he was fine with it.

In no way would I have asked his permission, as it's not his to give. They broke up because of some boneheaded stuff he did, what she and I chose to do is no longer his business, although I did feel I owed it to him to at least not hide anything from him.

We ended up dating a little while, 6 months or so, until she graduated (she's a year younger) and went off to a trade school.

i guess i'd ask permission as a courtesy, but really, it should be more of a notification instead of asking for permission.. just let him knwo that you're interested in her, and want to pursue something, but dont' want to lose his friendship, and that his friendship is just as important to you.. but yes, i'd let him know.. i'd ask, but still go out with her if he said no

Guy code, dude. No choice. You have to ask his permission first. You don't have to ABIDE by what he tells you, but you have to ask him. If he says you can't see her, just tell him it's too bad because you are.

If he's a man, he'll get over it.
