www.newegg.com vs www.compuplus.com vs www.googlegear.com

NewEgg is great, them and Mwave.com are the only places I'll buy parts from.(well Dell too, but only drives and monitors) Never had an experience with compuplus or googlegear, so I can't say.

Check out ResellerRatings for good info on the dealers your're considering.

Newegg.com tops the three you mention, w/ a 9.56 rating. You have to dig deep to find a negative comment. Good customer service, FedEx Saver shipping, good choice of products. FWIW Newegg is the dealer I now deal w/ almost exclusively (still use 2cooltek for cooling solutions).

Googlegear (7.66 rating) seems to be a rising star. Cheap 2nd day FedEx, good customer service, only rub

CompuPlus (7.5 rating) has good prices, relatively higher shipping rates than the other two you mentioned. Suspect packaging at times. Easier to find negative comments in ResellerRatings than for the other two. Not as broad a selection.

I have ordered from all and have had no problems.

Most of the bad marks these guys got on resellerratings I bet came from people who screwed up themselves and were looking for a scapegoat. I sell network equipment and so many order the wrong things despite us trying to explain the reasons why we do not think it is a good selection for them or find it somewhere else after the fact and then just want their money back for nothing we did wrong or worst yet for the reasons we already explained.

I have no problem giving a warranty, but a warranty isn't a satisfaction or lowest cost guarantee, however, those people will go to the mail list's or ebay feedback and bash the heck out of you.

If it could only be like the wild west and settle things in the town square 🙂

I used to order only from Newegg or Mwave, but recently I have found Googlegear to be as fast and cheap as Newegg so I am using them alot more.

mwave googlegear and newegg were great to me although newegg shipping is slower than the others by about a day

The one time i order from googlegear I also mad an order with newegg, and only minutes apart from each other and had to wait about 2 extra days for the googlegear stuff to ship... maybe it was a one time thing... but i still got my stuff in the aloted time... I've never used compuplus but the others I really like and have had no problems and have recived Excellent service. I say which ever has the best price just use them...

I have used Googlegear and Newegg both a lot. For me google gear has always been about 1 or 2 dollars more but the shipping is always faster by a day... so it's a toss up. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend either..

would anyone ever consider tigerdirect? (in reference to sticky in this forum)
edit: sticky gone
<-- feels like he did a good deed for the day 🙂

I absolutely love Newegg. I was a big fan of finding the cheapest price on Pricewatch until I finally got screwed by one, and I won't ever turn back. I ordered an entire system from them on a Monday morning at about 9:00 Central Standard Time. I paid the extra $2.99 (FOR AN ENTIRE SYSTEM WORTH $900!) for the one-day processing and received the entire system by the time I got home Thursday night. At other websites, I have ordered single items, paid the extra money for quick processing and two-day shipping (screw you BZBOYZ!), and still not received my order on time. I don't think that you'll have any problem with any of these three, but newegg simply rocks. C'mon, a 9.56 rating? That tells me that you're bound to get great service from them.

A reformed Pricewatch fan, I'll never go back. Newegg gets all my business. Oh yeah, and most online resellers that have low prices only have low prices on a few items and then recoup their losses on other higher-priced items. Newegg is not one of those. Just look on Pricewatch. They are consistently within a few dollars of the lowest prices you'll find.

I usually order my stuff from NewEgg, but I gave Google Gear a 1st time ago with my ATi 9700 and had no problems on shipping, I would try them again.

I love newegg! They are great, fast shipping and good prices. Even though their rules say you cannot return a cpu after 7 days, they let me, and it had been around 20 days 😀

Google gear is also great, good memory prices and cheap shipping.

never tried compuplus.com

Newegg is my main vendor, but sometimes I'll see cheaper prices on googlegear and order from them instead. They both offer extremely cheap, fast FedEx shipping and awesome prices. The two times I've had to RMA or cancel my order with Newegg were extremely smooth. I've spent about $3000 with Newegg and I have never been unhappy.

mwave has been my first choice especially when ordering a sytem
mwave and newegg are both great on returns
compuplus is good as well - especially if you want a 4 port KVM for under $50
never ordered from googlegear

gogglegear used to be pretty good, with 2nd day shipping for like 50cents on some stuff. Now they charge $10 extra to Hawaii for no reason. Losers.

All three have been 100% reliable for me.

Lately, I use Googlegear for CPUs, mobos and memory (their prices and free shipping can rarely be beat) and Newegg for all other parts.

I use Compuplus for items I have trouble finding elsewear... mainly because their shipping is a bit high and their prices are not always the best. However, they are reliable.

Amused, considering Tiger Direct has a Reseller Rating (lifetime) of 4.10 I think I could find a lot of other vendors more worthy of my $$.

You should also check out Nutrend.
I found them yesterday when I was looking for an AXP 2400+ and saw a link to them at amdforums. I think they must be affiliated with newegg, especially by the looks of their site. Ordered my chip last night, and it was shipped today. They get high marks at resellerratings too.

I'll second the recommendation for Newegg as well as the one for Mwave.com. I have had good luck with those two, and they both have very good prices.

That being said, WHY CAN'T I VISIT EITHER OF THEIR WEBPAGES??? 🙁 They won't load on my system for some reason.

Ordered my Case from newegg, and my memory from GoogleGear. Both are great companys, good prices, fast shipping, and can't go wrong with either.

Mwave isn't so bad, but the shipping on my Motherboard was very slow, other than that, not complaints to them either..
