HELLO, the allies started both World Wars I & II. Germany retaliated both times. Its funny how over simplified history gets as time passes. The war with Japan was inevitable during WW II, too, because of America strategic posturing of its forces. We did lay down an armed embargo around the Far East that basically bled Japan dry of its imports. They rebutted by taking resources forcibly from the surrounding countries.

Besides, WW III & IV are already here. WW III was the Cold War. WWIV is the war on terror. Why do you fellas think that they keep using terms like "Axis of Evil"? C'mon, boys, this is basic historical dogma today.

Germany invaded Poland in early Sept 1939 that was the basis for the response from the allies. Japan had its own issues in 1941 due to the fact that they had been carrying out a number of campaigns against asia and invaded China in 1937; FDR cut off all oil and metal supplies to Japan in 1937 and placed an embargo on Japan in 1940. All Japanese finances in U.S. were frozen. Since Japan couldn't have its cake and eat it too they unwisely bombed pearl harbor. The Cold War wasn't WW III by any means.

The most important thing to avoid WWIII is to promote communication among all countries and try best to avoid misunderstanding, prejudice, fear and arrogance.

And the world should pay more respect and assistance to UN.

Thus I believe the humanity could avoid the nuke winter described in many science fictions.
