I've bought from them many times as well. All of my products work perfectly fine. Keep in mind that some are genuine while other are fakes.

Hmm.. Their markup is No different.

It just that you buy it in Hong Kong, it fetched from the shelf packaged and put into the mail service by a person who is paid $5 for a day work.

So their expense on conducting business is close to Zilch.

It is nice that there are outlets like this for unimportant gadgets (I buy from them too), but you can not base an economy on such practices.

In the core realty this type of practices are part of the variance to the current economical crises in the USA.

You can Not have a country that live up in the sky above the whole world with ?Computers and LCD TVs in each room", and provide the work and the commerce to other economies.

The all ?Blab bla? of the Bail Out is needed right Now to avoid immediate catastrophe but for the long run it would do nothing since an economy cannot survive on wishful thinking. Something has to be produced and sold to others in order to create core the income to buy.

Otherwise, Mel Gibson?s Road Warier would not be just a movie but the reality of life.

I haven't had any problems with my purchases from dealextreme. It does generally take 3-4 weeks to arrive. Nice little surprise after you've forgotten about your order. :)

If you're buying their cheapie-brand and no-name stuff, it'll be real cheapie-brand and no-name stuff, but they sell some counterfeit brand-name products, e.g. JetBeam, Tiablo and LumaPower flashlights for known examples among the flashlight enthusiasts. So buyer beware.

Yup, genuine knockoffs. :D

I've purchased a couple times from DX. Takes about 3 weeks to get to me, but I get what I paid for.

Reading user reviews and comments, some of the products are really craptastic while others are great. YMMV. If you stick with stuff that has a lot of positive discussion and reviews, you should be gold.

At least with the SD cards, they'll say which ones are genuine Kingston ones, and which are Kingston lookalike generic brand cards.

Like plenty of other people have said, don't order if you need the stuff immediately. With DX, as well as with the various HK-based eBayers I've bought from, it usually takes 2-3 weeks.

I bought a DSTT from DX, and it works fine. There are apparently knockoff and counterfeit DS cards out there on the market, but my DSTT is a genuine one based on the fact that 1) it works as expected, and 2) it matches up with the pics on the DSTT homepage showing real and fake cards. The GBA-backup third party app is really handy for dumping save data from GBA Gamepaks. $6 for a DSTT, compared to ~$20 for a GBA GameShark/Action Replay .

I tried to buy something from them, and I got the wrong item shipped to me. I ordered head phones and got 10 flash light key chains. Half of them didn't work and the other half broke shortly after the first use. They also took about 5 weeks to solve the problem (after me FORCING them to refund me) Overall I'd say they are just really full of excuses and should be avoided if an item can be found elsewhere for a similar price.

(that said I recently placed an order for a Triwing screwdriver from there for $.99 when everyone else wants $9.99)
