I know it wasn't worth the $50 I paid for it when it first came out. Calling it "buggy" is an understatement. From what I understand, they've patched it up quite well...I personally have yet to get back into it tho. I guess I'm still harboring some deep resentment at shelling out that much for that kind of product...

Hey, it's free...give it a try. Worst that happens is you uninstall it.

I didn't like it, too hard to control for one thing. Get medal of Honor, allied assualt instead. Oh by the way I belive there is a monthly charge for playing this game after the 14 day trial period but you don't need to give the any credit card info to try it out.

Why would I want to experiance WWII online? It was so traumatic the first time *weep*.

This is not meant to dishonor the brave people who fought in WWII. Just a bit of comedy...

Not to really thread crap or anything, but I wouldn't dare give these guys a credit card number. Not because the game sucks or anything, but because of this that was posted in Dec on icrontic.com -

Well, in no surprise, Playnet has filed for Chapter 11 bankrupcty. I got an appearance and demand for service letter today from their lawyer in re to PLAYNET INC., a Texas coperation, filing for Chapter 11, case No 01-49209-BJH-11. The same letter was mailed to all of Playnet's debtors, including credit card companies and past affiliates. Apparently I'm not going to get paid what's owed to me (I'll have to see my lawyer about it), which is around five months back pay. I was the biggest money making affiliate at Playnet, and was owed the most money out of any other affiliate in the network. Playnet also owns Cornered Rat Software, which developed World War II Online. I would presume they are going to be shutting down as well.

This just rotts my socks guys. I thought I would at least get some money from Playnet before they hit the rocks. However, I can't say that I'm surprised that they went under. Ever since we joined the Playnet network over a year ago, both Celcho and I have known they would go out of business. They were horrible at just about everything they did, including simple things such as adding DNS entries to their nameservers. Their business model was extremely poor, and their focus on creating a web portal at Playnet.com was a poor idea ever since the start.

So this is farewell to Playnet, and perhaps to Cornered Rat software and WWIIOnline. We've known it was coming - they laid off several people, and dismantled their online network. And in the typical Playnet fashion, this was all done far too late to make any difference, and they went out of business. I think it's kind of funny becuase Celcho and I said that we didn't think Playnet would make it to the new year. It looks like we were correct.
