Just wondering, specifically I'm looking for a scenerio from a not so serious flight sim (ie not hard) that lets you fly fantasy aircraft, like Nazi fighter jets (that ALMOST happened) vs american planes a bombers (or superior luftwaffe attacking US ground troops...)

But there is a lot of other things that are interesting.. like if Germany attacked Moscow... or if US entered the war later or not at all, or if....

So basiclly any WWII games that has good 'god' options where you can correct the supposed mistakes in the war or run your own course....

Thanks

There is a new expansion pack to Battlefield 1942 coming any day now, it's call Secret Weapons of Reich or something like that. It should have what you're looking for.

Nazi jet fighters didn't ALMOST happen, they existed; just not in large enough quantities to change the outcome of the war.

Uh, the German jet fighters, notably the Me-163 and Me-262 engaged American and British bomber formations and shot bombers down in the last few months of the war, just fyi...

Hehehe.. Me-163 is credited with only one kill. The darn things wasn't even technically a plane, it was a guided piloted missile, it could stay airborne for only 45-60 seconds.

...thats what I thought I just didn't want to say that German jets actually happened, and then get flamed for it...

Downloading the demo for 1942 expansion pack right now, Just read about Secret Weapons over Normandy which is coming out later this year (secret weapons of the luftwaffe's update for that 'classic' game of the early '90's...)

Any other's you guys can recommend.. perhaps some fun stratergy ones or RTS action games, or other flight sims.....

Uhh...the Me-163 Komet was powered by a rocket motor. It was of wooden construction, and it was armed with 2 30mm canons. The motor could power it to ~35,000 feet in about 2.5 minutes, and then fuel ran out. Once at altitude, the plane would glide downward, shooting down as much stuff was it went. It was more of a desperation weapon than anything.

I thought most German jets were used as bombers instead of fighters upon Hitler's insistence, which basically negated there usefulness. They should have been better because they were faster, but strapping thousands of pounds of bombs on them made them essentially no better than the best conventional fighters. I'm no expert, so I could be wrong though.

So...? What did I get wrong?

Not exactly.. Germans did not wait til winter, timewise everything went to plan. What did screw them over was the Italians. Operation Barbarossa was scheduled for first half of May 1941, however in late April Mussolini invades Greece without consulting Hitler. Italians got bogged down in Greece and Hitler was forced to postpone the Barbarossa and to bail Mussolini out of Greece. Had invasion of Soviet Union started on schedule, the Hitler would get to Moscow before winter, and who knows what might have happened then....

Hearts of Iron. Check my sig.

As Germany in 1946 I had ICBMs, transistor based CPUs, a B-52-a-like, and nuclear aircraft carriers. Not to mention 8 tritium bombs.
