WWE Wrestling is TOO fake - kids disillusioned

Its still real to some people.
I wish they would stop with the closed fist punches all together. They're suppose to be illegal, and no one works stiff in the WWE anymore except for the 1 in the 21-1.

Wrestlers in all organizations like WWE, TNA, etc. are legally obligated not to seriously hurt or mame other people. They go to wrestling school to learn to "sell" punches, moves, falls, and pain. The only time someone gets hurt if someone botches a move - like a piledriver which is now outlawed - no one uses it. If you fall in the wrong way, you may break a neck or a knee, which happens all the time. Its like a magician union where people know the tricks but aren't suppose to tell the audience.
 
Vince McMahon testified that it is scripted entertainment that shouldn't be regulated by the New York state athletic commission.
 
It's a live action soap opera, I don't understand why anyone would pay to see people fake trash talk and then fake fight.

ROLF no. They get hurt even without a missed move. The body is not designed to take that kind of abuse.

I enjoy watching it on occasion. I just hate the current crop of wrestlers and gimmicks.

This is the real problem. After the Monday Night Wars and that Attitude Era, all the wrestlers turned to shit. John Cena is like one of the human beings on the planet, but that guy just isn't a good face or heel. WWE has mismanaged their assets. How long was Daniel Bryan a jobber before he got his chance? That should have happened a long time ago.

Gone are the Andre the Giants, the Hulkamaniacs, the Rocks, the Scott Halls, The Kevin Nashs, the Stings, hell, even the Hawk and Animals!

I suppose next someone is going to claim that all those D-cups the female wrestlers have are fake, too!!!
 
The thing is ... these guys are all so big and roided out that if they really did go after each other the way they pretend to the season would be over pretty quick with all the injuries.

Yes, it's fake, but I wouldn't want to piss off any of them...

Back in the day, my newspaper sent me out to cover a local WWF event. I shot with two cameras and stuck the rest of my gear under the announcer's table to keep it out of the way.

Mid-match, someone got tossed out of the ring and pancaked the announcer's table as part of the act. My gear survived, so clearly wrasslin' is fake.
 
For everyone who says wrestling is fake, please allow me to hit you with the Rock Bottom or the Stone Cold Stunner. I'm sure you'll come to your senses!

while i loved the hulk and andre. they couldn't wrestle for shit.

I enjoyed matches between people that could put on a show. I would love to see Angle (in his prime) and Daniel Bryan go at it.

You are right in that they mismanage people. From what i read there is a LOT of backstage politics on who gets over on who. Even though the fans loved DB the people backstage just didn't think he could be top guy. they just ignored the fact that everyone in the stadium was chanting "NO NO NO" and shitting on the other wrestlers.

as for John Cena he is the ultimate face. I don't see them changing him to a bad guy for a long time. He is the hogan of today. little kids love him and since that is who the WWE is targeting today he is going to stay a face and champ.

You don't have to be a good wrestle to be a "good wrestler". Hogan and Andre weren't the best technical wrestlers, but as characters, they were it. When Hogan did his heel turn at WCW, it was spectacular. Also, keep in mind, Hogan always had it in his contract that he got to determine his own outcomes (and that is why he had very few clean losses).

John Cena is getting prime for a heel turn, but I just don't see him as THE franchise wrestler like those we've had in the past. I mean, he is a great person, and charismatic in the ring, but he isn't that guy. He isn't going to be the anti hero that stood up to 'Mr. McMahon' or the guy that is trying to take over the establishment (NWO, for instance). Maybe I am missing something though, as I don't watch wrestling much anymore. Btw, John Cena is the number one "Make a Wish" visitor. He's done more appearances than anyone else. I believe it is double the number of the second person.

I feel really bad for Daniel Bryan. His time should have come a lot sooner. When the entire crowd chants for you day in and day out, yet management doesn't give you shit for booking, it has to be an awful grind. =(
 
Watch a wrestler put a 'Figure 4 Leg Lock' on someone and watch that person sceam in agony. Then you put that same hold on someone. There is no pain. Likewise, when the wrestler pushes someones throat against the ropes, it is not the throat that is against the rope, but they are sure to always have one arm over the rope to take the pressure away from the throat. Likewise, if you watch closely, when a wrestler jumps up to stomp down on someones back, leg or arm, watch their other foot. It always lands first on the mat, thus minimizing the pressure to their opponent. Headlocks, arm locks, and the such are only moves that give the wrestlers time to catch their breath, they do absolutely no harm. Head butts are also so fake, as they only do a headbutt against their own hand and butt their hand on their oponents head. If you were to smack your head against someone elses head, you would crack boths heads open.

Go ahead and put John Cena's submission hold, the SPF or whatever on someone. Again, it causes no pain. The sleeper hold is probably the most fake of all the holds. Have you noticed that a few wrestlers still try and do this move, but nobody falls asleep anymore? In the old days, just a few seconds of the sleeper hold would have any wrestler on the mat fast asleep, (besides the audience).

Those moves are all executed in a way to make them far less dangerous. For example, when executing a Stone Cold Stunner, you release your opponent's neck as you're about to hit the ground and they fly back with a jolt. It looks legit if they time it well, and there's very little chance for damage.

Now, I know first-hand how much that shit fucking hurts if you do it wrong. In high school, my friends were all into WWF and WCW, and being the quiet one meant that I was the one that they messed with. One day, we were coming back in from going outside in Earth Science, and while walking down a hill, one of my friends thought it would be fun to give me a DDT ( pretty sure that's the right move -- it's been a while ). Normally, you would use a very loose grip on the neck that allows the head to pop out from your arms when your opponent's head makes contact with the ground. His noggin' gets a bit of a bump, but most likely nothing serious. However, my friend did not do that, and given we were on a hill, my neck went in a direction that it should not go in. I can still quite vividly remember saying, "No! Don't drop me!" 🙁

I couldn't move my neck for about an hour after that, and I still suffer pains from that incident nearly 17 years later! :|
 
I think HD would make wrestling suck. At least when I was growing up it at least looked somewhat real just because you couldn't tell otherwise.
